Rick Valadez began his drumming career in the seventh grade when he joined the junior high school band.

Throughout his junior and senior high school years, Rick won numerous awards for his musical participation.

Some of these awards included: First place in the All Area Stage Band (for the entire Rio Grande Valley),

fifth runner up for the Texas State All State Stage Band, and he had two of his drumline compositions published

and added to the McAllen High School Band catalogue.

After graduating, Rick became a touring player with such artists as Dana Cooper, AD4 and

finally his current band, Rat Ranch.  Rat Ranch plays an average of 210 days a year!  Rat Ranch has had the privilege

of sharing the stage with such notable artists as Joe Walsh of The Eagles, The Little River Band, Kansas,

Dishwalla, Lit, and Warrant.  Rick has played all across the United States, from Alaska to Florida.
