Mr. Arturo “Archie” – Violin, Viola

Arturo “Archie” has been teaching for over 10 years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Industry – Instrumental Performance Track from Loyola University New Orleans.

His studies have also taken him to the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music for Instrumental Performance as well as Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music for Orchestral Performance under the tutelage of masters of their craft, such as, Adrzej Grabiec, Kyung Sun Lee, Lawrence Wheeler, Michel Zaitzeff, Amy Thiaville, and Bruce Owen. In addition to classical training, Mr. Archie has experience as a session musician, having recorded in studios and played in a local alternative rock band with an electric violin. Mr. Archie advocates efficiency, self-sufficiency, and discipline in one’s playing, as well as tailoring lessons to each unique individual’s needs and requirements. Phillip graduated from Nazareth College in Rochester, New York with a Bachelor of Art degree in Music.  He has been teaching both cello and piano for many years.  Phillip is also a member of the Fort Bend Symphony and the Brazosport Symphony Orchestra.

Claire, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance at the University of Houston. She has played violin for 15 years and looks forward to working with young, budding violinists at the Conservatory!

Ms. Yamile – Piano, Violin

Ms. Yamile was born in Cuba and began her musical studies at the age of 7 in vocational schools of art.  She studied for 12 years in the specialties of violin, piano and music theory.

Yamile eventually became a professor in the subjects of theory and piano at the Jose White Music Conservatory in Cuba, and later the Dean of the Music Theory Department at the Nola Saigh Sainz School of Music in Ciego de Avila, Cuba. Yamile has been teaching theory, piano and violin to children, teenagers and adults in both the public and private sectors for 18 years in Cuba, Venezuela and the United States. She received her childhood instruction in the Suzuki Method, and went on to receive Suzuki teacher training through Suzuki Book 4 with instructors such as Dr. Laurie Scott, Dr. Patricia D’Ercole, and Dr. Susan Baer. She is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and has participated in numerous Suzuki Institutes around the country.
